Lock Upp Season 2 Episode 22 Review
Apoorva Immediately Changes the House Dynamics
From the moment she enters the jail, Apoorva immediately changes the vibes in the jail, as the now ousted members from the two previous gangs end up with her. Moreover, her team is automatically saved, which results in everyone feeling some sort of way. While Shilpa and Shreya gloat at Harshad and Shivangi losing their powers, the others simply try to understand how to divide bathroom breaks, food distribution and sleeping arrangements.

Despite there previously being a ton of problems, Apoorva seems to have created a better environment, although it is just her first day! She makes an impression by letting everyone have food, despite 20,000 being deducted from the fund for breaking the rules. The decision, however, is an interesting one, as viewers can’t help but wonder what Apoorva’s strategy is at this point.
Old Rivalries Refuse to End
Some problems, however, just don’t end, as is obvious with Harshad, Shivangi and Shilpa’s continued screaming matches. As Shilpa gloats about Shivangi losing her powers and becoming unsafe, she starts calling the pair “lovebirds”, something that they absolutely despise. As a result, a screaming match takes place that night, as Harshad and Shivangi name-call and scream at Shilpa, accusing her of not understanding friendships because she has no friends and more things.

Shilpa’s comments are clearly meant to provoke a reaction, and Harshad & Shivangi constantly fall into her trap, despite seemingly knowing better. However, the screaming match probably was even more intense because Apoorva had previously in the day exposed Shivangi about Shilpa’s comments regarding her relationship with Kushal Tandon and accused her of having an affair with all of her co-stars. As the emotions run high in the home, the accusations and name-calling keep getting worse. Although it’s a natural progression of things, it sometimes gets hard to see the same thing over and over again.
Ram Kapoor’s Game Finally Comes Under the Spotlight

One of the episode’s most interesting turns of events is Ram Kapoor’s storyline, as Apoorva questions his gameplay and asks Harshad, Shivangi, Chamola, Pamala and Akanksha Chaudhary that he isn’t on anyone’s side and is simply using everyone for his own benefit. She highlights how he never takes anyone’s side and is patronising and condescending towards everyone, and is simply manipulating the contestants to make them work for him.
It introduces doubt within all the contestants, as they finally see different sides of the same coin that opens their eyes. While Ram Kapoor’s inclination to try to tell everyone what to do has been quite annoying, it will be interesting to see where the game goes now that the truth is out.
Crackdown Begins With High Stakes

The final stretch of the episode showcases the Crackdown task where the contestants of the two unsafe gangs have to fight to save themselves before Judgement Day. The game is interesting, having the contestants make three teams of two and butt heads against one another as they try to fill their cups after traversing a laser-ridden path. By the end, Sufi, Varun and Pamala are left unsafe, and we only see a part of Shivangi’s match with Harshad, but don’t see the end. The cliffhanger works well, as we get closer to Judgement Day and things get more and more complex.
Final Verdict

Lock Upp Season 2 Episode 22 is refreshing because it introduces a fresh perspective that immediately shakes up the whole house. While old problems continue to cause a stir, things are about to get much more tense and thrilling… at least, one can hope!
