SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — A police officer from the Caraga region who is part of the security force for the 2026 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections was wounded in a shooting incident at a school in Cotabato City on Monday morning.
The Police Regional Office – 13 said Patrolman Justeen Reo Ga, assigned to the Dinagat Islands Police Provincial Office, was among four people wounded after armed men opened fire inside the Central Pilot Elementary School along Sinsuat Avenue in Poblacion, Cotabato City.
Ga is one of 887 police officer from Caraga deployed to assist in securing the BARMM parliamentary elections
He was given immediate medical attention and is now in stable condition.
One of the wounded was later pronounced dead by the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region./gsg
