COTABATO CITY – Despite the series of bombings and shooting here on Sunday night, voting started on time in most of the voting precincts, Commission on Elections Chairman George Garcia said.
Garcia, who visited San Vicente Academy in Gov. Gutierrez Avenue, Rosary Heights 9, said seniors, pregnant women and persons with disabilities cast their ballots as early as 5 a.m.

“To our seniors, PWDs and pregnant women can still vote even after 7 a.m., the time (specially alloted) for them,” Garcia said. “They still have enough time until 7 p.m.”
Garcia also visited Sero Central Elementary School along Sinsuat Avenue, and found the balloting orderly and peaceful.
Violence erupted and two explosions rocked three areas in Cotabato City on the eve of balloting that left three people dead and 16 others wounded. /jpv
