A Suspicious Encounter From the Past

We see a flashback of Suhyeong and his wife on a road trip and hear how they’re discussing a vacation to Sokcho and going to Inje Forest. This is when an SUV keeps on blocking them, and he gets frustrated, and he goes out to confront the driver. We instantly know that it is Man-he. Before leaving, Man-hee secretly notes down Suhyeong’s license plate number, hinting that his obsession with the family began long before the current events.

Tae-ju Searches for Answers

We’re back in the present, and we see Se-yun running through the forest while Man-hee tries to trap her. Meanwhile, Tae-ju goes to the hospital, and his happy memories with Se-yun and his daughter flood his mind.

Back in the present, Ko Se-yun desperately runs through the forest while Man-hee relentlessly hunts her down. A flashback shows the couple celebrating Hayun’s second birthday, showing how much he cared for them both. However, his emotional moment is interrupted when the hospital’s security system detects that he accessed Se-yun’s confidential medical records. Security immediately alerts the police, forcing Tae-ju to flee before he can gather more information.

Myeonghee Covers for Tae-ju

Tae-ju unexpectedly meets Myeonghee when he tries to escape the hospital. As police officers search the building, they question her about Tae-ju’s whereabouts. However, she calmly handles him and diverts them to help Tae-ju flee. Once the officers leave, she privately asks Tae-ju what happened to Se-yun. He stresses that he isn’t the reason behind her disappearance and that he is trying to save her. Tae-ju then leaves, knowing Myeonghee believes her.

Meanwhile, Dr Choi unknowingly helps the police by revealing a hidden exit from the hospital, while the police chief begins growing suspicious of Dr Ko after noticing his unusually defensive behaviour.

Se-yun Falls Into Another Trap

Se-yun escapes the forest and reaches the road. She then asks a passing woman for help. The woman, Kim Kyungae, appears sympathetic and even agrees to take Se-yun to the police. Believing she’s finally safe, Se-yun accepts her phone to make a call.

Instead, Kyungae secretly sedates her. When Se-yun regains consciousness, she discovers she’s back at Man-hee’s place. The episode reveals that Kyungae is not a random woman but Man-hee’s wife and full accomplice (What the heck?). She is also revealed to be the mysterious woman driving the SUV during the earlier flashback.

The Truth Behind the Basement Voice

We then see Se-yun confronting Kyungae about her identity. Kyungae admits she was the mysterious woman speaking through the basement wall all along. The supposed captive named Lee Seon-ja never existed. It was all an elaborate plan to make Se-yun feel the fear.

The horrifying revelation completely shatters Se-yun. Man-hee then shows her a recorded video showing Tae-ju discussing plans to have her killed. Se-yun doesn’t believe it, but it still gives her the fear of trust.

Final Fight

Tae-ju tries to find Man-hee’s hideout and finds that Jae-il is a fake identity of Man-hee. After finding the real Heo Jae-il’s identification documents, Tae-ju pieces together the truth and finally discovers the kidnapper’s real name: Noh Man-hee. He immediately goes to his address. As he arrives, he takes Kyungae as his hostage at gunpoint. He forces her to call Man-hee and shoots a warning shot. After tying Kyungae to a chair, Tae-ju finally locates Se-yun and begs her to escape with him.

Instead of embracing him, Se-yun confronts him about the incriminating video she was shown. Despite Tae-ju’s repeatedly telling her it was fabricated, she wastes time by confronting him about it. This is when Man-hee comes with a surprise fight, and the couple have a violent fight. As Kyungae attempts to shoot Tae-ju, Se-yun intervenes to stop her. During the struggle, Tae-ju manages to strike Man-hee with a heavy blow before escaping with Se-yun.

Thrilling End

Just when freedom is literally near them, horror strikes again. As Tae-ju and Se-yun flee by car, Man-hee appears from the opposite direction and rams their car. Before Tae-ju can recover, Man-hee brutally attacks him with a baseball bat, leaving him done for now.
