Mirzapur: The Movie Trailer Reactions on X: The Internet Is Already In Awe

The trailer for Mirzapur: The Movie dropped, and honestly, the internet did not just respond with little claps; it responded as someone had just switched the light back on in a room full of people who were waiting for their favourite chaos merchant to come back.

People seem pleasantly surprised by how the big-screen version is shaping up.

There is a very particular chaos that follows Mirzapur, and the trailer for Mirzapur: The Movie seems to have slid directly into it. X (formerly Twitter) was less of “let us analyse it” and more of  “OH, WE ARE SO BACK.” Mirzapur: The Movie is being taken to the big screen, and the first reactions are loud. Considering how risky it can be to turn a much-loved series into a theatrical event, the internet’s immediate response feels perhaps like a collective screaming- a pretty promising start.

“An Absolute Banger!”

@SumitkadeI was among the ones who came out swinging, calling the trailer an “ABSOLUTE BANGER” and adding that it was “WAY better than expected.”

That “better than expected” is doing a lot of work because taking a beloved streaming series and giving it a theatrical treatment is the kind of thing that can go spectacularly wrong, but the user felt that the trailer manages to retain the rawness and intensity associated with Mirzapur while giving it the scale of a theatrical entertainer.

The user also called it one of the “finest-cut promos of the year”, while also pointing towards the return of Kaleen, Munna and Guddu Bhaiya and Ravi Kishan adding another layer to the madness.

@Bolly_BoxOffice praised the film, stating, “HOW TO CUT A TRAILER? JUST LOOK AT THE #MIRZAPURTHEMOVIE TRAILER… BLOCKBUSTER WRITTEN ALL OVER IT.”

Is Kaleen v/s Munna the Real Fight?

@RajatJain shifts the focus from Guddu, writing that the “most interesting conflict in the trailer isn’t Guddu vs anyone,” shifting it to Kaleen vs Munna.

Considering the familial baggage the two characters carry, this thus becomes an interesting observation to note. Their reaction called Mirzapur “the first major Indian web series making a proper theatrical leap” and pointed out the September 4 release date.

The Bhaukaal Is Apparently Intact

News Nation’s reaction kept things considerably simpler: “violence, intensity and full-on bhaukaal.”

Honestly, that summarises the Mirzapur trailer pretty much. The reaction singled out Ravi Kishan’s entry alongside the return of Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya and Munna Bhaiya and their trademark madness.

There is something almost comforting about seeing these names together again. The circumstances may have changed, the screen may be considerably bigger, but apparently the madness has not toned down for the big-screen audience.

Then There Is The Munna Bhaiya Question

@beingshrutip had perhaps one of the most emotionally loaded reactions of the lot, which is honestly very Mirzapur fandom.

But their reaction quickly moved to genuine curiosity: how exactly did they fit eight hours of story into two hours? Which is valid. The question might end up being one of the biggest things the audience wants answers to when the film arrives because Mirzapur has never been doing things in a hurry.

Another user, @johnholick, was less interested in the plot and seemed more interested in the dialogue. The reaction praised the editing as a “full energetic trailer.”  They went as far as calling it a “Paisa vasool movie” and gave Farhan Akhtar’s work a 10/10.

Nobody is just talking about the plot. They are talking about the dialogues, the moments they think will get the theatre cheering and the actors. 

The Final Verdict

Even Sumit Kadel Media kept things wonderfully uncomplicated: “#Mirzapur the Movie Trailer is FANTASTIC.”

Perhaps that is the funniest thing about the reaction so far: no fence-sitting, really. People are not coming with paragraphs about the trailer with balanced thoughts; they are just yelling.

The trailer can indeed promise something, and the movie can decide to hand you something very different. But if we go by the first set of reactions for Mirzapur: The Movie, it has managed to clear the first set of difficulties by creating excitement among the people to watch it on the big screen.

The trailer does not ask the audience to forget Mirzapur, but takes Mirzapur into the cinema and invites its fans for a bigger experience.
