MANILA, Philippines – As Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial enters its 10th week on Monday, the House prosecution panel is set to focus on verifying the identities of recipients of her confidential funds (CFs).
- Philippine Statistics Authority Assistant National Statistician Marissa Grande is scheduled to testify on Day 22 of the impeachment trial.
- Grande is expected to discuss the agency’s verification of names listed as recipients of confidential funds.
- Several of the supposed recipients were first identified during the House Committee on Good Governance and Public Accountability’s investigation into Duterte’s confidential funds.
- Acknowledgment receipts submitted by the OVP and DepEd to the Commission on Audit listed names such as Mary Grace Piattos, Miggy Mango, Nova Santos, Andy Lim, Antonio Pagong, Xuniso Belat and Shane Ngitngit.
- The PSA reported that 1,322 supposed payees of the OVP’s P500-million confidential funds had no birth records. Another 405 supposed recipients of DepEd’s P112.5-million confidential funds were likewise found to have no birth records.
