

A Thai social media influencer is calling for accountability from a Bangkok beauty clinic after rhinoplasty surgery that left her nose crooked and impaired her breathing.
The 25 year old TikTok star, identified only as Joy, made the complaint public and sought legal assistance from Thanakrit Law Firm office in the Lat Krabang district of Bangkok. The clinic in the
Joy later spoke at a press conference yesterday, August 17 that she had a rhinoplasty with ear cartilage at the clinic in the Rama 9 area of Bangkok in October 2023 for 65,000 baht, The case was arranged as a complimentary review case.
She said she chose the clinic because the doctor held a plastic surgery specialty qualification and the reviews she had seen were positive.

Joy stated that her nose tilted to the left immediately after the operation. The doctor then told her the nasal base was crooked, though she had not been warned of that before the operation.
Joy said a corrective procedure was then carried out. causing further 5,000 baht. The nasal tip remained red and inflamed and was collapsing structurally, with a risk of perforation. This caused her the breathing impaired, leading her to seek further treatment at the clinic again.
In the latest operation, the ear cartilage was removed, and the doctor recommended waiting six months before another rhinoplasty attempt. She said she declined further treatment there after two unsuccessful procedures.
Joy said she has had difficulty breathing through her left nostril and congestion for more than two years, using a nasal spray and an asthma inhaler. The complications prevented her from working in front of a camera or doing sponsored reviews, resulting in a loss of income.

Joy sought compensation from the clinic in order to seek full treatment and surgery to solve the issues. She said a total of the medical operation was around 300,000 bah, but the clinic offered only at 65,000 to 80,000 baht.
The influencer added that the clinic is still using photographs of her surgery for promotional purposes, citing the complimentary review contract which runs until 2027.
The law firm planned to coordinate with the Department of Health Service Support at the Ministry of Public Health to investigate the clinic. A complaint would also be filed with the Medical Council of Thailand to review the clinic’s treatment standards.
The clinic and the doctor who treated Joy have not been identified. As of publishing, no public statement has been issued by the clinic.
