Ikka Ending Explained
Why Does Arjun Agree to Defend Shaurya?
The film starts by showcasing Arjun as a straight-arrow lawyer who always stands by his values and defends the innocent. Thus, after Shaurya’s murder case comes into the picture and he is asked to defend him, Arjun initially agrees because he knows that Shaurya might not be innocent. Unfortunately, things become much more complicated when he finds out that his daughter, Samaira, has leukaemia and requires a bone marrow transplant that only her father or mother can provide.
This is where the film’s emotional twist arrives – as it turns out, Arjun isn’t Samaira’s father; Shaurya is. Avantika was initially Shaurya’s girlfriend before Arjun, and when she got pregnant, Shaurya refused to take responsibility for the baby. Eventually, Arjun married Avantika, and Samaira became her daughter. As it turns out, he needs Shaurya to agree to the bone marrow transplant to save his life, and Shaurya takes advantage of this, asking Arjun to help him walk free in exchange for his daughter’s life.

Devastated and with his hands tied, Arjun can’t help but agree to the conditions, as he can go to any length to help his daughter survive, even if it means making a deal with the devil.
How Does Arjun Win the Court Case?
While Madhura presents many compelling arguments, she isn’t able to present irrefutable evidence against Shaurya. However, one evening, she bumps into Arjun at a restaurant and reads a text message on his phone from Gauri, who expresses concern over Shaurya not being at home and being unable to accept this moral burden. She thus presents Gauri as her witness, which proves to be her biggest mistake, as Gauri lies in court. Arjun presents evidence that Gauri had called the police about Shaurya hitting her on the night of Soma’s murder, which proves that he was at home. This results in Arjun winning the case.

However, as it turns out, this was all pre-planned by Arjun, and Madhura had just walked into his trap. He made this risky move to strengthen Shaurya’s defence and help him walk free, but there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
How Did Shaurya Murder Soma?
Towards the end of the runtime, Arjun and Shaurya have a chat about the entire ordeal, proving that Arjun knew all along what was going on underneath the surface. He knew that Shaurya had actually murdered Soma in his car with his car keys and had used Gauri to manufacture the alibi of him hitting her. She had called the police knowing that her call would be recorded and used his bodyguard to play Shaurya, proving that he was at home during the murder.
Arjun quietly gathered this evidence and kept it close to his chest, knowing that he would need to use it later on. He further realises that not only did Shaurya kill Soma, but he also killed the only eyewitness to his whereabouts that night.
Why Doesn’t Arjun Arrest Shaurya Immediately?

Arjun knowingly allows Shaurya to walk free as it’s the only way he will be able to save his daughter. If he had put him behind bars, Shaurya would’ve refused to help Samaira. Thus, it’s a moral dilemma for Arjun, who eventually chooses the difficult route – he lets Shaurya go free and then saves Samaira, eventually putting him behind bars as planned. Only after his daughter recovers does he go after him once again, ensuring that he fulfils both of his responsibilities: saving Samaira and delivering justice.
Why Does Madhura Arrest Shaurya in the End?

It was Madhura who desperately wanted to get justice for Soma but was left heartbroken at her loss in court. In the end, thus, Arjun does the right thing and lets Madhura deliver the final justice, letting her win her case in the end. When he reveals the truth to Shaurya, Madhura arrives with the police to arrest him, proving that not only is Arjun an honourable man, but he fulfils his obligations to the fullest.
What Does Ikka’s Ending Mean?

Ikka‘s ending proves that while justice isn’t always immediate, it doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to achieve. While Arjun, a lawyer whose reputation is built on integrity, is constantly seen compromising on his principles by defending a guilty man, in reality he was only delaying justice and compromising to save his daughter, a responsibility that he takes more seriously. Once he saves her, he does the right thing and puts Shaurya behind bars, where he will answer for his crimes. In the end, he proves that compassion and justice can coexist, even if it takes time to do so.
