A shooting occurred at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province, this morning, causing alarm and concern among parents and people in the area. Police and special operations units have since brought the situation under control.

Approximately 9.30am to 9.50am: The first gunshots were heard inside a school building at Debsirin Nonthaburi School. Rescue workers and emergency medical teams rushed to the scene after receiving reports of multiple injuries and deaths. Initial reports indicated that the gunman was a student at the school.
Approximately 10am: Plai Bang Police Station officers and a special operations unit cordoned off the area. The school also asked parents and people not involved in the incident to avoid travelling to the area outside the school for safety reasons and to allow officers to carry out their work.
Approximately 10.15am: Teachers and school staff evacuated students from the buildings to a safe area outside, while medical teams transported injured people to nearby hospitals.
From approximately 10.30am: Police moved in and brought the situation under control. An initial examination identified the firearm used in the shooting as a CZ 75 Compact.
Injuries and death toll under review
After the situation was brought under control, forensic officers and relevant agencies cordoned off the scene to examine the deceased and collect evidence. However, initial figures for the number of people killed and injured differed between agencies operating in the area.
The national police chief ordered officers to urgently bring the situation under control and asked members of the public not to livestream or publish images of police operations.
The Royal Thai Police and Nonthaburi provincial administrative agencies are expected to provide further clarification on the motive and the official number of casualties.
