GTA 6 Leaks: Just when it felt like the internet had finally exhausted every possible thing it could analyse about GTA 6, a fresh batch of alleged leaks landed and immediately sent everyone into detective mode.
New footage and images reportedly began circulating online, with an individual or group calling itself Cyberleek claiming responsibility. The material reportedly includes gameplay footage of Jason driving, a police encounter, alongside images claiming to show a much larger portion of the Leonida map. Rockstar has reportedly been issuing copyright takedowns against posts containing the leaks.
The Leaks Are Doing The Rounds: GTA 6 Leaks
The dates of the clips are being discussed online, with some community members pointing to FFmpeg suggesting a 2023 date. This has become a major part of the conversation, with people dissecting the reality of the same.
The leaked gameplay appears to show Jason in and around Leonida, with clips showing him driving, getting into an altercation with an NPC and most importantly, playing basketball.
After years of waiting for GTA 6 release, one of the things the internet immediately decided to obsess over was Jason shooting hoops. The basketball footage appears to include gameplay prompts while other clips reportedly offer glimpses at police reactions and vehicle interactions. Some reports have also highlighted possible details which should be treated as details from leaked footage rather than officially confirmed features.
GTA 6 fans have been basically given unfinished footage and immediately decided to perform a full forensic investigation.
The Map Appeared
The images claiming to show the full Leonida map also started circulating.
The alleged map appears more expansive with multiple countries and islands. Reports have suggested five apparent countries: Lummox, Leonard, Kelly, Vice Dale and Mariana, along with locations and islands that fans had not previously seen.
For the fans who had spent years making assumptions about the size and shape of Leonida, this brought particular chaos. On Reddit, a discussion celebrating the leak even turned into a sort of GTA 6 geography class with people comparing scale, arguing that the map could be from an older build and pointing out that the huge amount of land visible could mean the game is denser than it looks.
Cyberleek Explained Why
The leak turned into something bigger than simply “someone posted GTA 6 footage”
Cyberleek has reportedly framed the leak as a protest against what it considers anti-consumer practices, particularly digital pre-orders and the lack of a traditional game disc. The group or individual has demanded an apology from Rockstar and has reportedly threatened further action if they fail to do so.
GTA 6 Fans Are Already Picking Sides
Reactions have ranged from excitement and disbelief to people questioning the reasoning behind the leak on Reddit. Discussions about Cyberleek’s claim quickly turned into whether the consumer-rights motive actually made sense, with some commenters arguing that the leak would encourage more people to pre-order while others questioned if Rockstar would ever respond to the stated demands.
Meanwhile, another GTA 6 Reddit thread simply titled “Yes the leaks are real” had many upvotes while users were discussing what they had noticed in the footage.
Some fans are even treating the footage as evidence of how much the game may have evolved, while others are very specifically reminding everyone that an old development build is not the finished product.
Basketball! The Internet’s Big Question
Amidst all the map speculation and arguments about the leak itself, the basketball footage has become one of the easiest things for people to hop onto because, after years of waiting for GTA 6 release, people are apparently happy to discuss whether Jason’s basketball mechanics look good.
This is what happens when Rockstar keeps the internet waiting for years: the second a tiny piece of gameplay escapes, even microscopic details become content and a basketball hoop is not just a hoop anymore. It is GTA 6 basketball lore.
The Takedowns Have Made People More Curious
Rockstar’s reported copyright takedowns have added another layer to the discourse. As posts and videos containing the footage began disappearing, fans started reposting descriptions, screenshots and discussions about what they had supposedly seen, but Rockstar was actively issuing takedowns against the circulating material.
The fact about the internet remains that a video can be removed, but people already talking about it cannot be.

People have already zoomed in, analysed the map, debated mechanics, argued the motives and Jason’s basketball skills. GTA 6 release still has months to go, but somehow, we already have a discourse about it.
GTA 6 release is scheduled for November 19, 2026. Watch the GTA 6 official trailer II on Rockstar Games’ YouTube.
