A 16 year old student in Chon Buri filed a police report accusing her math teacher of sexually abusing her in exchange for good grades. Her mother claims that the school protected the teacher from prosecution.
The young girl is in Mathayom 4, or Grade 10, of a school in the Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri. She and her mother, 42 year old Bew, visited Bang Lamung Police Station yesterday, August 23, to take legal action against the male teacher and the school.
According to the report on Channel 7, the alleged abuse took place between June and July this year, and the mother only recently became aware of it.
The mother said that she had noticed her daughter becoming more withdrawn in recent weeks. Eventually, the teenager revealed that the teacher had abused her when her mother pressed her for an explanation.

She said that she had been struggling academically and that the teacher had offered to help her get better grades in exchange for favours. He provided her with exam answers, which led to her achieving the desired result.
Then, the teacher arranged a meeting at a nudist resort. He groped her during that visit. On a second visit, the teacher reportedly took the girl to his room and asked her for sex. A condom was used the first time, but not the second.
The student said that the teacher had also groped her at school. Unable to tolerate his behaviour any longer, she filmed the assault as evidence for a further police complaint. The footage showed the teacher putting his hand under her skirt.
According to the girl’s mother, she raised the matter with the school, resulting in an agreement that she considered unfair. The school drew up a document stating that the teacher would be transferred to another school and would be required to pay the schoolgirl 50,000 baht in compensation.

The school also stated that the girl and her mother would be held responsible if the case or footage of the incident were to be shared publicly after the agreement was reached. The family was also made to promise not to take legal action against the teacher.
Following the latest update to the case, the police inspected the resort where the alleged abuse took place, and officials from the Chon Buri Children and Family Shelter arranged a medical examination for the student. The investigation is ongoing.
Neither the accused teacher nor the school has yet made a statement regarding the matter.
