MANILA, Philippines — Several candidates were leading in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections, based on the partial and unofficial parallel count by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Monday night.

The initial figures from PPCRV’s Initial Election Transmission cover the six sectoral seats being contested by voters for settler communities, women, youth, ulama or Islamic scholars, and traditional leaders. The rankings and vote totals may still change as more election returns are processed and canvassed.

For the settler communities sector, voters are choosing two representatives to represent settler communities in the Bangsamoro Parliament.

As of 8:20 p.m., the initial PPCRV count showed:

  • Olaya, Yul Adelfo (UBJP): 568,283 votes (24.7%)
  • Arnado, Mary Ann (UBJP): 523,021 (22.7%)
  • Yu Ekey, Ongpin (BFP): 312,981 (13.6%)
  • Anayatin, Susana (BFP): 306,506 (13.3%)
  • Abujen, Alex Jr. (BGC): 285,748 (12.4%)
  • Padayhag, Brod Arnold (BGC): 221,261 (9.6%)
  • Ramirez, Edgardo (C4P): 63,980 (2.8%)
  • Lagman, Percival (C4P): 19,058 (0.8%)

For the women’s sector, voters are choosing one representative to serve as the sector’s voice in the Bangsamoro Parliament. The initial count showed:

  • Silongan, Aida (UBJP): 548,325 votes (41.9%)
  • Sahali, Ruby (BGC): 412,002 (31.5%)
  • Usop, Jehan (BFP): 240,011 (18.4%)
  • Jumaide, Dayangcarlsum (TPWC): 82,332 (6.3%)
  • Kader, Pombaen (BPW): 17,994 (1.4%)
  • Kadatuan, Mariam (LBIAA): 7,043 (0.5%)

The youth sector also has one seat, with voters choosing a representative for young people in the regional parliament. The initial tally showed:

  • bbas, Sulfey (UBJP): 495,756 votes (40.0%)
  • Adiong, Jeff (BGC): 471,347 (38.1%)
  • Ibrahim, Nur-Jamil (BFP): 271,548 (21.9%)

For the ulama or Islamic scholars sector, voters are choosing one representative. The initial PPCRV results were:

  • Ebil, Muhammad Nadzir (UBJP): 512,418 votes (41.1%)
  • Abdullatif, Alibasher (BGC): 431,471 (34.6%)
  • Borhan, Marhan (BFP): 302,979 (24.3%)

The traditional leaders’ sector likewise has one seat, giving voters a choice of a representative for traditional leaders in the Bangsamoro Parliament. The initial count showed:

  • Macasalong, Marjanie (UBJP): 537,257 votes (39.9%)
  • Mangudadatu, Sultan Pax (BGC): 343,450 (25.5%)
  • Ibay, Panga (ISLPI): 181,768 (13.5%)
  • Gumbila, Datuteng (BFP): 117,031 (8.7%)
  • Atar, Abdul Hamidullah (RHSUMA): 71,113 (5.3%)
  • Maulana, Sultan Sharif (DTLO): 52,218 (3.9%)
  • Benito, Sailaney (RHSUPA): 23,359 (1.7%)
  • Ampatuan, Tharhata (ROYALS): 8,858 (0.7%)
  • Hadj Nor, Jehad (RSL): 5,723 (0.4%)
  • Amatonding, Mangontawar (RSEU): 5,648 (0.4%)

The first BARMM parliamentary elections involve 80 seats: 40 regional parliamentary political party representatives, 32 district representatives and eight sectoral representatives. /mcm
