Two grandparents, Nkgalakana Vinolia Mabusela, 52, and Lesiba Jacob Ledwaba, 55, have been remanded in custody following their appearance in court.
They are scheduled to remain in detention until 25 May 2026, when a formal bail application will be heard.
Meanwhile, the search intensifies for two-year-old Omphile Sethole, who remains missing.
At the time of her disappearance, the toddler was wearing a pink jersey and black tights.
South African Police Service authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to locating the child.
