The father of a student in Ang Thong filed a police complaint yesterday, August 31, after his son accused a female teacher of repeatedly hitting him and squeezing his genitals, leaving him in pain and feeling humiliated.
The 55 year old father took his son, a 12 year old Mathayom 1 student at a school in Pa Mok district, to Pa Mok Police Station to report the alleged assault.
According to the student, the teacher slapped him on the head several times, repeatedly hit him on the back and squeezed his genitals.
The boy contacted his mother, who works in another province, and the family subsequently sought assistance from the media and raised the matter with the school director on August 28.
The family also claimed that other students at the school had previously experienced different forms of violence involving the same teacher.
According to the boy and his family, the teacher went to a friend’s home where the student was staying on August 29 and spoke to him about the incident. They alleged that she asked him not to pursue the matter and attempted to resolve the dispute.
The boy later told his family about the meeting, prompting concerns that the teacher’s alleged visit may have placed him under pressure.
Pa Mok Police Station accepted the complaint and plans to question those involved.
According to Amarin TV, the teacher declined to comment on the allegations when approached by reporters. The Ang Thong Primary Educational Service Area Office has also received the complaint and is conducting its own investigation.
