Subaru Wakes Up to a Nightmare as Shaula Battles a Monster Horde
Thankfully, Subaru doesn’t forget himself yet again when he wakes up. However, the situation is not really great for him because ultimately the tower is getting hit by beasts from left and right, and the only person who is trying to stop them from attacking more is Shaula. In this segment, we see genuine relief on Subaru’s face because he thought that something worse could happen after he wakes up from reading the book. He also feared losing his current self, and then he sees Beatrice in front of him; his sigh of relief proves that.
However, when he learns about the problem at hand, he quickly gathers his bearings and heads towards where Shaula was. The situation genuinely scares Subaru after he sees just how many monsters are charging towards them. Here, he asks Meili to help Shaula out and goes to rescue others. That is when he gets to know that the situation with Ram and Emilia was not good either. This is where the first shocking aspect of this episode comes into play.
Memory Loss Crisis Takes a Dark Turn as Reid Joins the Battle
A serious case of memory loss was happening throughout this episode. Here, when Rem meets with Subaru while carrying Ram, she completely forgets about Emilia. Most likely, she fell victim to the same powers that took Subaru’s memory as well. However, because Subaru remembered Emilia, he goes there along with everyone to fight none other than Lye. This fight would have gone extremely badly for others had it not been for Emilia. She showcased a great affinity for fighting and even managed to keep Lye at bay for a very long time. Thankfully, Julius also came to help her out.
However, things change completely when Reid also enters the picture. With three factions facing each other, the fight was extremely entertaining to witness. On top of that, Emilia’s interaction with everyone only added to the humour. She tried to make peace with everyone, while on the other hand, Reid reminded her that he is nothing but their enemy.
Reid Proves Why He’s One of the Series’ Strongest Characters
The action in this episode is top tier, and it keeps the tone of this episode very fast. I specifically loved the way Emilia fought against all her enemies. Lye was definitely a formidable foe, but the way Reid stomped on him did feel great. Reid showcased that he is arguably one of the strongest characters in Re:ZERO, and he would tolerate slander from no one.
Satella Appears as Subaru Faces One Twist After Another
Another thing that this episode provided us with was lots and lots of twists and turns. Many of the things that we see here, I did not really expect. First of all, why did we suddenly see the emergence of Satella out of nowhere? Not only that, but the strange power Subaru received. Where did it come from?
On top of that, what actually happened to Shaula for her to turn into something like that in the end? However, the biggest twist was definitely how Reid’s situation turned out to be for Subaru and company.
Final Thoughts
This episode had a bit of everything, from action to comedy to a complex storyline. Even though Subaru didn’t do much, he was still important. However, the highlight of this episode was Reid with his dynamic personality. His situation with Roy Alphard was shocking. It would be interesting to see what really happened to him.
