Spooky in Love Episode 11 Review

Kang-wook and Yeo-ri’s Relationship Ends in Heartbreak
The relationship between Kang-wook and Yeo-ri formally ended in this episode, and things were not at all happy between them when they parted ways. Kang-wook realises his grandmother caused their breakup, and he confronts her when he goes back home.
This was heartbreaking for Kang-wook, who truly loved Yeo-ri and did not think of the superstitious aspects that she would be the death of him. From here on, Yeo-ri also started to avoid Kang-wook because she was scared that if she met him, it could turn out to be very bad for both of them. However, their relationship was not the only problem.

Yeo-ri Discovers Min-hwan’s Hidden Motives
Yeo-ri’s company is going through an extremely rough patch because Min-hwan is trying to stick his nose in her issues. He wants to buy all the shares of her company, effectively buying the company for himself. This is finally discovered by Yeo-ri, who confronts him about what his actual intentions are.
He clearly evades her questions and stays mysterious about the whole thing. Min-hwan was also pretty busy in this episode because he had his own problems following him around. The secret from the past that he had been hiding for so long might finally come forward pretty soon.

Kang-wook Gets His Hands on the Locket Tied to Yeo-ri’s Past
After all these years, Ji-hwan’s locket gets discovered by Min-hwan’s mother, who visits his office. Min-hwan manages to save the situation by pretending he found the locket recently and that he planned to give her the locket as a gift later. His mother is fooled by his affirmations, but fate was not kind to him at all.
Surprisingly enough, Min-hwan’s mother goes to meet Kang-wook and gifts the locket to him. It was apparent that because Kang-wook has her son’s heart, she had a soft spot for him. This completely changes everything because Kang-wook also recognises the pendant as being the same one that Yeo-ri was searching for.

Min-hwan Was Never as Simple as He Seemed
In this episode, Min-hwan’s true nature finally comes to light, revealing just how complicated his character really is. At first glance, no one would suspect that Min-hwan is villainous. He even loved his brother in his own twisted way. However, being constantly compared to his younger brother, along with the fact that he was not a legitimate child, must have affected him psychologically from a very young age.
He kept everything bottled up and rarely showed his emotions. On top of that, the girl he loved also turned out to be in love with the very brother he had grown to hate. All these feelings eventually manifested as jealousy, pushing him to do something he might not have done if the circumstances had been different.
Final Thoughts

The twist in the end was also something that I did not expect. This was a nice way to further showcase just how messed up Min-hwan is in the end. Even though he loves Yeo-ri, he is not above protecting her even at the cost of himself. This showcased that his love might not have been the pure kind in the first place.
This was a lot more interesting than the previous episodes, and I really loved it. Min-hwan turned up his aura farming in this episode, and his acting was also significantly better in this one. Ong Seong-wu had previously been a really good protagonist, but the actor’s acting prowess ultimately radiated as a villain.
