
MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon, or habagat, continues to bring heavy rains over parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Monday, with several areas reporting flooding as the weather system persists.
The state weather bureau warned that heavy rainfall could continue, particularly over western sections of Luzon and the Visayas.

- Malacanang has suspended government work and classes in Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon on Aug. 10.
- The Senate also suspended the impeachment trial and session, but placed its officials and employees under a work-from-home arrangement on Monday due to the prevailing weather conditions.
- Residents in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas are advised to monitor Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) and local disaster officials for warnings and evacuation orders.
- Habagat continues to affect Luzon and the Visayas, bringing periods of heavy rain.
- Several flights have been suspended due to inclement weather.
