Glen Powell will be back on OTT with his Hulu hit. Chad Powers Season 2 is releasing soon with an official date announced and fans of the sports comedy will not have to wait much longer to find out what happens next to Russ Holliday.
When does Chad Powers Season 2 release?
Chad Powers Season 2 is all set to premiere on Thursday, September 3, and will stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for their subscribers. Unlike the weekly episode structure of Season 1, all six episodes of Season 2 are said to drop simultaneously on premiere day itself. This calls on binge-watchers to clear their schedules for one session instead of waiting week to week.
This is a notable shift from the first season, which premiered with two episodes on September 30, 2025, before releasing new episodes weekly through its October 28 finale. It is noteworthy that this format kept the show in the conversation for nearly a month among the fans, generating a steady stream of fan theories and social chatter as Russ Holliday’s (Glen Powell) secret identity crawled closer to exposure each week. Season 2’s single release suggests perhaps a bet on binge culture this time, likely aiming to capitalise on opening weekend buzz, giving the audience the show in its entirety rather than stretching the story out for a long discussion.

Chad Powers Season 2 New Faces

Colin Woodell is said to play Jay, along with Carey O’Donnell as Mr. Brent and Nate Varrone in the series.
The series is co-created by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron, who also returns to direct four of the six Season 2 episodes, including the premiere and finale. Deadline suggests Waldron recently renewed his overall production deal with 20th Television.
Waldron made his directorial debut by taking to the camera to direct the Season 1 finale.
Chad Powers is based on the “Eli’s Places” segment from ESPN and Omaha Productions, in which Eli Manning famously disguised himself in prosthetics to walk on to a tryout at Penn State. It is this stunt that became the inspiration for the show’s entire premise.
The logic behind renewal

Despite a mixed critical reception- a 59% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes– audiences embraced the show wholeheartedly, giving it an 84% Popcornmeter score.
It’s a pattern that’s become increasingly familiar in the streaming world: critics can be lukewarm on tone or pacing, but if audiences are actively finishing a show and talking about it online, platforms tend to bet on that engagement over review scores. Chad Powers‘ blend of sports comedy and genuine emotional stakes clearly struck a chord with viewers looking for something lighter than prestige TV yet still grounded in real character work.
Where to watch Chad Powers Season 2
All six episodes of Chad Powers Season 2 will be available to stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ starting September 3. This time, viewers with a Disney Bundle subscription will be able to access the season directly through Hulu on Disney+, without needing a separate standalone Hulu account.
