Murder Mindfully Season 2 Ending Explained: The second season of this highly anticipated German crime-comedy series continues its memorable blend of comedy, psychological satire, and organised crime, leaving us hooked to your screens from start to finish. The season reminds us that, despite his decisions, Björn genuinely wants to have more control over himself to give Emily a better life and never face the things that he faced as a child.
The ending, thus, is hilarious but quite depressing if you look at the reality of how the show unfolds and where it leaves some of the characters.

Murder Mindfully Season 2 Ending Explained
Why is Björn Spiralling Again?
Picking up after the events of the first film, we see that Björn has started to spiral again during a family vacation to Austria. Wanting to recreate a nice outing with his parents when he was a child, he is left annoyed when the waiter of the food joint refuses to serve them promptly, leading to him carefully orchestrating his death. Realising that things are going out of hand, and at Katharina’s insistence, he reaches out to Joschka Breitner once again.
During their sessions, Björn learns that the scene that he had seen during the family getaway was actually a figment of his imagination and was something that he had wanted to do as a child. However, his parents were dismissive and neglectful of him, leaving him with deep, unresolved trauma. In the present, thus, Breitner asks him to reimagine his inner child in front of him and work towards building trust with him to finally come to terms with everything that had happened.

What Happens in the Finale?
Using his newfound tactic to control his mood swings, Björn does a lot of things that he had refused to do on account of them being childish. Unfortunately, not thinking about the consequences while dealing with the mob has its own downsides, and he is soon engulfed by Boris’s past catching up to him. The problem, however, is that Boris is chained to Björn’s basement. In the end, trying to put out one fire with another, Björn finally realises that the blackmailer and the instigator of all of these problems is Kurt, Laura’s brother, who has beef with Boris because he killed Kurt’s lover years ago.
In the end, after many problems and a visit from the Holgersons, Björn and Sascha catch Kurt and Boris and give him the option to save each other or kill each other after tying them to one another in the basement (Saw style). Of course, there is no real win for the two as Björn later bricks the basement up, leaving them to die regardless.

Does Björn Get Away With Everything?
Björn does get away with everything, as, although Nicole refuses to let him go for the Austria incident and everything that seems to happen around him, it’s Katharina who comes to his aid and asks Nicole to leave him alone. Previously going through an amicable break-up, they end up understanding each other and becoming each other’s friend. This one sweet gesture from Katharina helps Björn to finally overcome his trauma, after an adult finally takes his side despite knowing that he might be a part of the mess somehow.

What Does the Ending Really Mean?
The ending is rather sweet, as Björn explains to Breitner how he has finally accepted his younger self, and they have healed one another with cooperation. The series showcases how important it is for adults to have children’s side during their formative years and to make them feel loved and heard. When Katharina took Björn’s side, she showed him that she was there for him through thick and thin, and that’s not something that he had felt before this.
Is There a Possibility of Murder Mindfully Season 3?

Although there’s no official word for a third season, Murder Mindfully season 2 ends without many loose ends. With his trauma mostly healed and Boris dead, there doesn’t seem to be a possibility for another season. Unless, of course, Boris and Kurt get along with one another and dig their way out!
