MARAWI City, Lanao del Sur – Johairah Didato, 24, a resident of Barangay Datu sa Dansalan here, was unable to finish casting her vote after a poll watcher allegedly took her ballot and proceeded to shade the party she did not want to vote for.
In a phone interview, Didato’s sister, Johaniah Yusoph, said her younger sister could only cry after being shocked by what the poll watcher allegedly did at Precinct 73C inside the multi-purpose hall in Barangay Sagonsongan.

“She asked for a marker pen because there was no marker pen at her seat. The watcher was the one carrying the marker pen. When the watcher approached her, instead of giving her the marker pen, the watcher shaded her ballot. She could no longer speak,” Akiko said.
Johaniah questioned why there was no marker pen at the voter’s seat, saying each chair was supposed to have a marker pen. /jpv
