MANILA, Philippines — The regular voting period for the first Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary elections has started.
BARMM voters can cast their votes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during early voting hours for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women.
With this, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded early voters to fully shade the circle opposite the candidates of their choice, dry the ink on the ballot, and wait 30 seconds after shading before proceeding to the automated counting machine (ACM) to insert their ballots.

The poll body also shared the proper instructions in using the ACM:
- Approach the electoral board and inform them of your name, precinct number and sequence number
- Get the ballot secrecy folder from the electoral board
- Properly shade the ballots
- Insert the ballot into the ACM and wait for the voter receipt

The Comelec then warned the voters against taking photos or videos of their ballot and voter receipts and scanning the QR code on their voter receipt.
The poll body said that the following number of votes per voter will be accepted:
- One for Regional Parliamentary Political Party
- One for Parliamentary District Representative
- Six for Parliamentary Sectoral Representatives (two for settler communities; one each for sectors of women, youth, Ulama, and traditional leaders)
The historic parliamentary elections, which were postponed four times, are set to fill the 80-seat parliament, of which 40 seats are allotted for political parties, 32 seats for district representatives, and eight for sectoral organizations. /cb
