COTABATO CITY – Four people, including a police officer, were wounded in a shooting inside Central Pilot Elementary School along Sinsuat Avenue in Poblacion 6, Cotabato City, at around 6:45 a.m. Monday.
According to an initial police report, one of the victims was a member of the PNP Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, who sustained a gunshot wound to the foot.
Three other individuals were also wounded, but police have yet to confirm their identities and affiliations.
Police said unidentified armed individuals fired several rounds inside the school.
Quick Reaction Force personnel immediately responded, secured and cordoned off the area, and brought the wounded to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.
Authorities also launched pursuit and interdiction operations to identify and apprehend the suspects.
The motive remains undetermined as police continue their investigation and intelligence validation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. /dp
