Former Kaizer Chiefs winger George Lebese says Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng has earned himself a move to Europe after a great season.
The 21-year-old attacker has scored 11 goals across all competiton. He is one of the favourites to win the PSL Footballer of the Season.
Speaking on Radio 2000’s Game On, Lebese praised Mofokeng, saying the attacker was ready for a move away from the club.
“I’m glad to see ‘Rele’ graduating now. I don’t think we can refer to him as a youngster anymore, because he’s carrying the team, and he’s doing everything that he can to also win the league for himself.
“It would be nice for him to win the league, let’s be honest,” the former Chiefs star said.
Mofokeng tipped to leave Pirates
Mofokeng has been deployed in the number 10 position this season under Abdeslam Ouaddou, where he excelled.
Lebese feels Mofokeng is more effective playing in the attacking midfield role for Pirates.
“I think his body structure allows him to play more as a ten; he can dodge tackles, run away from defenders that are strong, but if you put him solely in the line, it becomes difficult when he plays against strong players,” he added.
Mofokeng joined the Pirates first team in 2023 and has since scored 28 goals in over 100 matches for the Soweto giants. He has been linked to several clubs, with many expecting him to play his last match for the Buccaneers against Orbit College.
